Atlanta emcee Kelechi has been moving through the underground for about a year since winning the Green Label Sound open call. With the blood of Nigeria pumping through his body, the Loose Change(s) EP was his way of introducing himself to his listeners. Now Kelechi is back with Before the Quarter, which was released a few weeks ago. From his website, the wordsmith explains the purpose of his album:

“When I turned 23, things started changing. People. Money. Time. I got hit with this fear of my Quarter Life Crisis. Who am I gonna be before 25? where am I gonna be? How will I get there? These letters are answers to those questions, or answers for them. Or simply comfort in not knowing. I’m 24 and these songs are what I was thinking before the quarter.”

With tracks like It’s Alright, Advice, Immigrant Son, & The Glo, this album is nothing short of inspiration for those who so desperately need it. A guide to calmly figure how who or where we all are supposed to be in life. With each life decision made, God laughs. And this is certainly an autobiographical telling of that.

Features includes the likes of BJ The Chicago Kid, Trinidad James, Mike Golden, Dre of Levi Johnson, Ikey, Phay & Ezi to name a few, with fire production from Josh Porter, Rascal, L3NO, Nate Fox, Peter Cottondale, Will Hill, & Kelechi himself.

Before the Quarter is available for streaming on sound cloud, iTunes, & Google Play.
